Day 5 - Radio shows, music videos and Catwalks

Hello! Wishing you an amazing day :)

Well! Simply been up to LOADS, I'll try and put it all in sequential order.

Actually... before I begin... TriggaDon's Padded Pen video has been released!! Finally! You remember those pics from Day 1 of my blog...? This is the hot hot video including most of the Bass Honey family! :) So very proud and so much love going out to all my girls for this... :) Massive love to Trev, Trigga, and Tobias for the making of this piece! - Bass Honeys big bit is about halfway through, check it out, all you lovely people.

Now onto the latest news from the Bass Honeys news desk - First up - A photoshoot with Dionne Vincent - This was a little promo shoot for Bass Honeys

You can buy Bass Honeys T's and Hoodies from a lovely little place called Dizzy Jam :) If you're a business owner and fancy getting your wee logo's onto clothes then check it out - They do all the hard work and you just get a % of the profits (may only be for the uk - Have a little looksee)

Next up, was a photoshoot with Icis Agency! This was done on the 18th of January in aid of Highlander Honeys competition - A little competition for ring girls... Check out http://www.facebook.com/Icisagency for more info... Pics to follow... Keep an eye on http://www.facebook.com/BassHoneys for the outcome xxx

Yup, Bass Honeys were invited onto a Radio show.... Oh my goodness!!!
Ali Love - Bass Honeys PR
So we came, we saw, we talked... Was a rather peculiar experience to be talking in to a microphone about this and that... Ali Love and I represented from the Honeys fam.
it was on Nia and Caspers show, they were so amazing and put us right at ease! We  concentrated on the upcoming goodies we're involved in, but also highlighted a couple of things we'd been involved in, like BrisFest and NASS festival.

Apparently we're alright on radio, and thus were promptly requested to rejoin the Ujima Radio crew for Julius's show, who was absolutely hilarious! This was on the following Wednesday!  Both links are below, if you have a minute, and fancy enjoying a good Bristolian podcast, have a wee look :)  Or perhaps you're just interested to hear what 2 little ladies from Bristol sound like...? Check it out anyhow...

Day 4 - DnB, Dubstep, & politics

Hello gorgeous amazing people!!

Yes I really am that happy - Today has been incredible! We've been shooting Adam F's music video for the track 'When The Rain Is Gone'. Location was at Elizabeth Shaw Chocolate Factory in Bristol, a rather run down looking abonded-esk building (which played host to random gym in the middle of it?!), with a whole host of lovely people including the man himself, Adam Fenton. Adam F has had collaborations with such other artists as  Missy ElliottPendulum, and Destiny's Child just to name a few.

It was amazing to be asked to come down and get stuck in... He asked for a few girls and 2 boyfolk from my Bass Family tree (Bass Honeys & affiliates...) - So I'd asked:

  • Ayla
  • Sam Hunt
  • Laurel Alabama
  • Roxy (Rachel Crocker)
  • Ali Love
  • C-Strike-Z (Danny Mackie) brought along Ryan O'Confidential (who also happens to be a philosophical poet.. See below for links)
Rachel Crocker, one of the Bass Honeys
featured in the music video

We were first asked to do a club scene, whereby myself and Alicia jumped on a box in the middle of this club-scene, which in real life was a large room in the run down building covered in debris... We got to meet some amazing and beautiful girls and boys - One of which, an incredibly funny chap called Gonzo (see link below), whom of which we got on with very well with - Namely making lots of jokes, involving impersonations of European porn stars...

We stopped for lunch after that (tiring standing about) morning (!) FREE food from the catering truck = A very happy young lady...

Laurel Alabama - One of the management
crew in Bass Honeys
Round 2 infront the cameras involved standing and looking as cool as possiblé as an air cannon was ejecting bits of foam, dust and paper at our heads.... Organic dust though mind - Get your tie dye out! Was all very funny especially as all the tall folk kept getting thunked in the head! (we were insured, so it was all ok incase of injury)

Anyhow - Spent weeks getting excited, and now its all over, I can't wait to see the finished result. Genuinely is such a lovely feeling to be asked to be a part of such a huge project.
Means that all the years of building up a reputation and working hard on organising various performances and promotion, really works.

The video should be ok to upload here.. Hopefully that is the case, if it isn't then I shall delete this last paragraph, so's not to waste your time on reading it :)

Here's a link to another video which Bass Honeys have been a part of which has also been aired on MTV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxQa0_BIdks

Someone said to me yesterday: Decide what you want to be doing.... It should be simple and easy to focus on. Imagine you're drawing a bow and arrow. Pull back the string and fire! And don't digress.

Really simple words... Yet so easily overlooked or not taken to the degree which could motivate... I however shall carry this statement with me

What else in the world of the Bass Honeys - Well, we're doing a Cancer research charity catwalk on the 24th of February which is all getting finalised at the moment... Its a subject close to a lot of peoples hearts, myself included.
We all know folk whom have been affected by cancer, so it's a privilege to be a part of a project which shall aid in raising funds for research into the prevention and alleviation of symptoms.
This is alongside the incredible photographer/entrepreneurial woman Natalie Rodley-Haines who runs the Blink of an Eye photographic company.

There's a few other projects in the pipeline... Other than that... If political findings are your thing... Thought I may add an interesting little video which is riddled in irony and beautiful inspiration. Check it out -

Biggest love and prosperity in the new year - Happy 2012

Day 3

Day 3 of blogging, almost 700 views so far!! WOW! Thank you all so much :)

Masses of seasons 'busy-ness' has ensued... Which also incidentally sounds like business, I'm beginning to see a link...

So, what the Honeys have been up to since the last time I blogged... The gig for Frontline Productions at Blue Mountain on the 17th of December kicked off well - We had Bambi (Alice Bambridge) and Sam Hunt repping it LARGE for Bass Honeys alongside the amazing MC Carasel,Taxman, Subzero, Logan D, Majistrate, Modified Motion, DJ Sly (just to name a few!)

Then followed rather shortly after was the booking via DNA for the event GSP & Without Restriction, presenting MC Funsta, Uncz, and Bar:Rage on the 23rd of December... Amazing stuff, Bass Honeys touched down on Gloucester home grounds at Fusion nightclub and made an incredible impact.
Dancers were Sam Hunt, once more ripping it up with incredible moves!! And Ayla... Ayla who not only is an amazing freestyler, but also performed with Glow Poi that evening which was very well received.

Another bit of news is that a few of the girls were snapped on a separate shoot with photographer Adam Reid - Showreel is a bit scary due to location and eerie music: http://www.flickr.com/photos/47252461@N06/6521701781/in/photostream

Hmmm.... Oh yes. And we've been asked by Adam F (himself) and Loadstar (themselves) to perform in their individual upcoming music videos!!!

I know I may be a little unconstrained when I say this, but, Oh My Crickey I'm so excited!!! And I just can't hide it!! It's amazing news to add to our list of achievements, and I'm so glad the girls and I get to be a part of something that I know we're all very much interested in :)
We're a Bristol based agency that seems to have kicked off... years of doing what makes us happy and having amazing support from all the people we meet.

Massive soppy seasons thank you's and I wish you a happy and prosperous New Year, Yes,  You.

More updates and shout outs to come...

(big up Josh Atomised Ling, keep an eye out for a DnB freestyle video - Especially for you, as you asked...)

Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Everything,
Trix

Day 2

Hello all you beautiful people! Updating this blog inside the amazing Cafe Kino (chai latte and 2 of my 5-a-day in a carrot and apple cake :) ).
Its been an amazing last few days for the girls and I. We've finished doing day one of filming for the epic TriggaDon, at the just-a-bit-scary location of Barrow Gurney... (I'll attach a few pics and a link).

We were down there with WHAT! Entertainment, Tobias and Joe, aswell as Noel Hibbert from Life Thru A Lens and Trevor Walsh from the incredible White Tiger Films

The girls were absolutely amazing, and it was such an amazing vibe having us all under one (broken) roof! (ooo just found pineapple in my cake, so far 3 of my 5-a-day.. Take that, NHS!)
All the Bristol dancers were there, also a few of the circus guys representing... Elly and Ayla were beautifully exhibiting they're specialist skills, Elly on the 'fire hula hoop thingy' as TriggaDon called it(!) and Ayla on the Poi created especially for the event (check out the video to see what they look like)

The video holds some quite hilarious out takes, let me know what you think! Massive shout to the Bloke on Hijack Bristol for requesting another blog :)

Some shots from the day:

This weekend?! I hear you cry in query!! Well let me tell you...
  • Elly Clibbens our regional fire artĂst alongside one of the beautiful DNA girls Lucy Johns are performing up at Swindon Hotel and Spa both Friday and Saturday for a particularly stunning fire show
  • Some of the Bristol Bass Honeys are performing a hyped choreographed routine this Saturday at Blue Mountain for the much talked about Frontline Productions - Keep an eye on the stage to catch this!

Thank you again so much for reading, this little blog seems to have gotten a great response! I'm really pleased :)

Big love to you all, peace, and Unity

Day 1 of blogging

Hiya everyone, thought I'd start one of these as Bass Honeys are always up to loads and this will be a way to just check out what we do week to week... Whether you're just interested personally, or if you'd like to see what we get up to and whether you clock anything that may be of use to you as a business/event.

Well, today I went to see my First Steps mentor with the Prince's Trust who'll be looking after me and my ventures for the next couple of years, Bass Honeys being one... The rest to follow ;-)
Last week we did a few shoots, and tomorrow (weather permitting) myself, Ali Love and Kelleigh (Cirque De Bass  Manager) will be attempting to learn fire skills from one of our more daring performers on the books - Elly Clibbens (http://www.ellyclibbens.com/). I'll keep you posted on how it goes...

Oh yes, and a possible DJ Die video this weekend, and a definite Triggadon music video Sunday at a secret location....

Remember, rice, peas, and love...

Trix
